I am a 30-something, married mother of two amazing little girls. Aubrey Julianne was born on May 9th, 2014 and Emily Claire on September 18th, 2018. I was blessed to have found my best friend for life, at only 17 years old and I married him 6 years later (July 10th, 2011). My husband and I truly do life together. He fully supports my passion for creating amazing images and building a business from it. We lived in Elizabeth City for 10 years and in August 2019 we moved to a beautiful home and neighborhood in Camden! #ProudBruinFamily

But how did I get here?

 

As a child, I always loved looking through old family photos. I could sit for hours, reading baby books and flipping through photo albums. My Mom always had a camera and made sure to thoroughly document mine and my brother's childhood. I was then fortunate enough to go to a high school that not only had photography as an elective but even had a full working darkroom. After graduation, I completed some college but I quickly realized I wanted to pursue more of my passion for photography. I spent a few years working as a photographer's assistant with Milan Rose Photography (Hillsborough, NJ) and then as a lead photographer with LifeTouch and Glamour Shots (Bridgewater, NJ).

For years, our family vacationed on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and my parents had bought a piece of land in Currituck. In 2007, my Dad retired and my parents sold our family home in Hillsborough, New Jersey. {Hillsbough will always have a huge piece of my heart}. In 2008, my parents built their dream home on the water in Aydlett, NC, and my boyfriend (now husband) and I followed them to the south. In 2010, Dave and I got engaged - at the top of the Corolla Light House. Then we got married in 2011, overlooking the beautiful waterfront in my parent's backyard.  After we got married, I went back to school and became a Registered Nurse. I continued with my photography on the side for many years. After my first little girl was born in 2014, I decided to dabble back into my true passion and slowly build my photography business, while also working as a part-time Mother Baby Nurse at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. I worked at Chesapeake for 6.5 years before finally pursuing my dream of a full-time photography business. My experience as a nurse had been such a wonderful asset to my work as a photographer. I love connecting with all my clients on a personal level and not just as someone that is "hired". 

 

Now, I want to share some fun tidbits about me! I adore animals, especially otters, orca whales, and puppies. I love DIY crafts and Pinterest projects, that is, when I have spare time {haha}. I love everything Disney, including trips to Disney World. My favorite classic Disney movie is a tie between the Little Mermaid & the Lion King. My favorite current Disney movie is definitely Moana (You're welcome). Thankfully, both my girls share my Disney passion, my husband - he'll get there one of these days haha.

 

I have always loved Christmas and all things Christmas decor! I have been a huge fan of Jessica Simpson & her music since 1999 (And she is even pretty awesome in person). My Spotify playlist is currently cycling country music, Disney soundtracks and starting every November - constant Christmas music! I absolutely hate doing laundry and dusting, but I vacuum a lot, sometimes twice a day. I can't stand clutter, but it always seems to find me and I am known to be a [little] clumsy. Now that you know me a little better, I can't wait to get to know you!
